Mrs. Stanetress Evans, Principal
Ms. Renisha Smith, Assistant Principal
Ms. Smith was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Georgia State University where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She then completed her master’s degree in Special Education with the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Smith began her career with Fulton County Schools in 2005 as an Instructional Paraprofessional. Over a 16-year span, Ms. Smith has been an IRR teacher for 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade, TAG teacher for K-5th, an AVID Coach, Lead Teacher Selector, a Curriculum Support Teacher, and Fulton County Schools’ 2020 School Professional of the Year prior to joining Dunwoody Springs.
She enjoys painting, watching sitcoms and movies, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family.
As a member of Dunwoody Springs’ administrative team, Ms. Smith is responsible for student discipline, coordinating testing, scheduling, and staff/teacher support with instructional supervision. Her philosophy of education and student advocacy are best stated in the proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.” Ms. Smith is passionate about developing confident, hard-working, and respectful students who are eager to learn and values meaningful partnerships with parents to ensure student success. She is excited to join Dunwoody Springs this year and looks forward to a memorable journey of productive learning and growth with our students and staff!
Ms. Megan Meneely, Curriculum Support Teacher
Ms. Meneely, grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio (a small town outside of Cleveland). She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!), her Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia (Go Bulldogs!), and her Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership at The University of West Georgia. Ms. Meneely began her teaching career in Fulton County schools in 2006, and was promoted to Curriculum Support Teacher at Dunwoody Springs in the winter of 2014. Her strong organizational skills and in-depth knowledge of curriculum make Ms. Meneely an incredible asset to our school.
In her spare time, Ms. Meneely enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and spoiling her beloved dog, Ada!
Mrs. Aisha Perry, Instructional Support Teacher
Mr. Patrick McAvoy, Administrative Assistant
Mr. McAvoy grew up in Somerset, MA and moved to Georgia in 2001. He holds degrees in music from Boston University and Columbus State University. He arrived at his current position after 16 years of experience in music education from elementary through college levels. After being recognized as a highly effective teacher at Dunwoody Springs ES, Mr. McAvoy was chosen to serve as a Model Teacher to share his teaching practices with colleagues by modeling, coaching and facilitating professional development training. After pursuing a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University, Mr. McAvoy became an Administrative Assistant for Dunwoody Springs ES. In this role his primary responsibilities include managing the Student Support Team (SST) process for at-risk students, Community Liaison, student discipline and school communications.
Mr. McAvoy has served on the School Governance Council, the Superintendent's Council and manages several school partnerships. He is known for working tirelessly to coalesce a wide variety of stakeholders to address the needs of at-risk students. Outside of school, Mr. McAvoy performs as a trumpet player with the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra and enjoys woodworking and hiking with his wife and two children.
As a member of Dunwoody Springs’ administrative team, Mr. McAvoy is responsible for the oversight of effective Response to Intervention (RtI) and (Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes. He is also responsible for instructional support, professional development, student discipline, community partnerships, and is the School Governance Council (SGC) lead.
Ms. Erica Dailey, School Counselor
Ms. Dailey was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Marietta, GA. She earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Tuskegee University, followed by a Master's Degree in School Counseling at Cambridge College. Her career in education began 17 years ago as an 8th grade reading teacher. As a teacher, she realized there were so many additional factors affecting students' ability to learn, so she decided to become a counselor. She spent 8 years as a high school counselor and transitioned to elementary school counseling three years ago.
Outside of school, the majority of her time is spent with family and friends. She has 3 children, a 15-year-old and 6-year-old daughter, as well as a 14-year-old son. They keep her busy with sports and other extracurricular activities. She loves to travel and learn about other people and cultures. Her hobbies include singing, interior design/DIY, doing hair, and makeup.
As a member of Dunwoody Springs’ administrative team, Ms. Dailey is responsible for the administration of counseling and related services ( school-wide, grade level, small group and individual counseling and student support), Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). She is responsible for the coordination of 504 plans, DSES Crisis Team, hospital homebound services, and private school records. She is also a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) team member.
